When you cease to dream you cease to live – Malcolm Forbes
Why are dreams important to leaders?
It is the leader in any organization who sets the tone, the direction, and the beat by which the team marches on a day-to-day basis. Providing that vision, instills the backbone to the organization, and is the perfect primer to develop corporate culture. The vision of the leader, must maintain intact. The result of failing to maintain this vision
How do leaders lose sight of dreams?
It is often the reality of success that leads to us taking our eye off of the bigger picture and allowing the daily grind of billable tasks, stress, and responsibilities stop us from planning for future growth.
This often manifests in taking on billable projects often leads to focusing on the task at hand vs. making the time to build the business through continuously refining the vision.
Point to Consider:
Leaders: How will you take advantage of the time you have today, this week, this month, this year to define and refine your vision?
On a 3×5 card, write down your vision in 3 sentences or less. Refer to this vision before you sit down to start the daily activities and once again before resting for the evening.
