The learning curve to understanding a new SharePoint release can be difficult without an awareness of the supported tools and resources to shorten the learning curve.
Microsoft has the released the “NAPA” Office 365 Development tools that are available by taking the following steps:
1.) Sign Up. Select a Office 365 Developer Site domain name
a.) Choose a custom subdomain of .onmicrosoft.com and userID.
2.) Utilize “youruserid”@”yourdomain”.onmicrosoft.com to sign i
3.) Your SharePoint 2013 Developer URL will be:
4.) Navigate to the Office 365 Preview Admin Center
5.) Select the Build Apps hyperlink at the upper left corner of your browser as indicated in the screenshot below
6.) Your site home page should resemble the following image below:
